The end of another field camp is always worth celebrating, even though I attended this one as a status personal. And from every field camp, there will be many things that you will start to appreciate...1. Never take the windscreen in front of a car for granted... Go try one without if you have any doubts...
2. Never grumble over two mosquito bites... There will be times when you have thirty at one go...
3. Mosquitoes in the city are repelled by mosquito coils...
4. Its a luxury to have lights and a roof over head...
5. Toliet bowls have been invented...
6. There is an umbrella when it rains...
7. People usually take the shortest route to reach their destination...
At the same time, you learn lots more...
1. Check the compass frequently while in an unfamilar place...
2. Never trust the map too much...
3. Wind and rain drops flying at your face at 50km/h are guaranteed to cause pain...
4. The car bonnet is a good place to slip on...
And a field camp involve many disciplines of knowledge...
1. Astronomy for gazing at stars
2. Chemistry for understanding how many matchsticks is required to light up a piece of solid fuel
3. Physics for calculating the direction of flight of a matchstick when you flick it up into the air
4. Biology to understand why some mosquitoes are not afraid of insect repellents
5. Geography for reading maps accurately
6. Mathematics for calculating the distance travelled on foot by counting paces
7. History to prove to others on how lousy singapore tanks are compare to those used by germans in WWII
8. English and Chinese to communicate to different groups of people
P.S. Try out this: mix the following drinks: coke, sprite, F&N orange, F&N zapple, F&N cherrade
